WASHINGTON LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
"From September 27-30, our Missouri HOSA state officer team embarked on an unforgettable journey to Washington, D.C., for the 18th annual Washington Leadership Academy (WLA), organized by the International Executive Council. Over the course of four days, we immersed ourselves in leadership development, cultural experiences, and networking with HOSA members from across the U.S. and beyond.
In addition to attending leadership sessions, we took part in a service project for the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), helping raise awareness for their cause. We also learned how to advocate for HOSA's mission in preparation for campaigning on Capitol Hill, where we had the opportunity to meet with several congressmen and senators to advocate for continued support of Career and Technical Student Organizations like HOSA.
While our time in D.C. was filled with official duties, we also made time for fun! From visiting the National Archives Museum to exploring Pentagon City Mall and enjoying the stunning views during the annual Twilight Tour, we truly made the most of the experience.
The Washington Leadership Academy left a lasting impression on all of us. The knowledge, connections, and memories we gained will be instrumental as we plan future events, conferences, and outreach initiatives for Missouri HOSA. We’re eager to take everything we’ve learned and make a difference in our home state.
In short, WLA was not just a leadership academy—it was an experience that shaped us as individuals and as a team. We’re excited to carry the torch forward!"

Every year, HOSA-Future Health Professionals hosts a capstone leadership experience for HOSA officers and members providing unique experiences through experiential learning, real-world applicability, and networking.
HOSA invites all State Officers and Local Chapter Leaders to join us in Washington, D.C. for the 16th Annual Washington Leadership Academy (WLA). WLA features dynamic workshops and interactive activities to teach HOSA leaders to be better advocates of HOSA’s mission and vision. This action-packed experience is the highest level of leadership development for HOSA-Future Health Professionals.
